We finished a dressing room off the master bedroom, two windows have SE light. Needed to have room darkening shades to block light for a person who often sleeps during the day for midnight shift work. The color, construction, and closing (pulling down a cordless shade) are fine. The retraction is poor, perhaps the shade is too heavy for the clutch - understand we need to reset the clutch.

We purchased this blind to block light out of a guest bedroom. It has been very useful for guests to have more privacy. All have commented it is also easy to use and retract.

For use in spare bedroom on East side of house. Two fold purpose; keep out intense heat from morning Florida sun, as well as the light that would wake a guest intent on sleeping beyond sunrise. This blind excelled at both while occupying a small space at the top of the window when retracted(a suprise feature I didn't appreciate until compared to another blind in another room)

We bought these blinds for a front bedroom that has a large window with an outdoor motion sensor security light. When our first guests used the room, they said they were up all night due to the security light coming on and off. So these blinds were installed to block that light. They have also been useful in blocking the cold in the bitter winter months.

I purchased these blinds for use in my nursery to block a bright window for baby's nap times. The room is totally DARK when the blind is in use. It is a little tricky to adjust...don't know if it is due to the heavyness of the shade (due to the wide width), or the material. It takes two SLOW and STEADY hands to retract the pleats correctly. Top down feature where it detaches at the top of header has a ragged edge where the factory trims it...appears on all shades ordered and looks a bit unfinished. Otherwise a great product.

I love the blackout...I have young children who take naps in their rooms without disturbances from the sunlight. We also put them in the TV Room for movie enjoyment any time of day. Easy to install and they were exactly what I expected.

These blinds seem to be well constructed and are holding up quite well after several months. The blinds are room darkening as promised - perfect for a bedroom or where privacy is needed. The custom size was exactly as ordered.

If I had to change anything I would have ordered them just a bit longer so they were easier to fill the window completely with the room darkening feature. The blinds themselves are long enough but they are a little stiff and if I don't pull them down past the bottom sill they tend to pull up a bit from the bottom.

We wanted a nice shade for our new family room that not only controlled the light but also the temperature in the room. We found these great shades that offer the slumbershade option. This blocks out almost all the light from around the shade sides and top. By creating this seal, it also stops the drafts that come off the windows. Where we live, that is very important in the winter. No matter how good your windows are, there is always some sort of cold that you can feel off of them. We've only had these up about a month, so we'll see how that goes this winter.

These Blind are Great. Room Totaly Dark. There is a Street Light that made our Bedreoom in to Day. The Steve's Collection Blackout made the room totally dark. You can't see your Hand in Front of Your Face.

Now we get a restfull nights sleep:))))))

Very good blinds. I would strongly suggest not choosing the cordless option for blinds over 24" wide due to billowing.

the room darkening shades do a great job of keeping sunlight out. i love all of the colors offered and free samples. they arrived quickly and my husband didn't complain too much when installing them. they look great in the room.

I did add several upgrades to my order- top/down bottom/up, continuous pull cord, blackout, and side light blocking rails. Steves was the only company who could make the blackout blind I wanted. Other comanies said that my window was too big. I was happily surprised when it came with a continuous pull cord for the raising too! Both controls have strong cords now. I could not find any other company that would do that for me. The light blocking side rails are magnetic and easy to remove if you need to get behind the blind for any reason. And even with all these "additional upgrades" the cost of the blind was the same or less as most other sites.

I was hoping to put in a green cellular blind on an oversized window, that would match a vertical blind. Why do the manufacturers not make both? Anyway, after numerous samples that were wonderfully sent for no charge, I found a vertical blind and a cellular blind that were very close in color. This blind is beautiful. It is a warm, inviting color. It insulates very well against the cold New England winter. And it opens easily, even at this big size, to show our beautiful trees and sun outside. I am very pleased.
